Biography:   Finally available after 18 months of remixing the original multitrack tapes! "Load Have Mercy" was recorded in 1977 and has been unreleased until now.

It really is a shame as it is perhaps the ultimate American progressive rock album.

Their first album, Praise the Load, often brought comparisons to ELP. This album makes it clear that The Load is not just a bunch of ELP- wannabees.

Sterling Smith uses a greater variety of keyboards while Dave Hessler takes a more aggressive approach to his guitar offering some earbending solos. Tommy Smith is a percussive powerhouse.

Power is the key word when discussing The Load. That is what this band is about - explosive power!

The music is predominately instrumental with classical strains filtering into the songs. Lots of dynamic interplay between the trio makes this a sonic workout for any sound system.

Bob Katz's famous 20-bit 128x oversampling A/D converter captures all of the magical intensity.
